Supergame XXXIX in Oregon! Update!

Looks like theres 600 people paid and signed up now. Above is the field map. This event is pretty hilly. Looks like most of the action will take place in the DMZ, and on top of what looks like a hill that Darkwood inhabits. Dr. Nick and Mason from the DBS Titans are confirmed to be playing for the renegades as well. Only a few days... we'll be leaving at 4:30 am!

Indoor Update!

Looks like progress is going pretty good on the indoor.

DBS Indoor Update

(4/20/10) - We have hit some road blocks at the new Indoor Arena facility. Unfortunately things outside of our control have caused us to postpone moving the Broadway shop to the new facility, and the Indoor Arena may not open until the end of May. Check our website each week for updates, but at this point things will not be open at the new facility until mid-May/early-June.

PSP Chicago Layout!

Official_PSP_Chicago_Breakout
After (what seemed like) a long wait, PSP graced us with the next event layout. For Chicago it's somewhat of a change as this event has had some funky snakes the last couple of years. Some points of interest, stated with the obvious knowledge that no, I haven't seen this layout in person.... yet.

1. How will the lanes shape up on this field? It seems that from the back center the snake side lane is a fools gold shot. The dorito side lane has a promising angle (no 's!) but there are several ways around it. There may be some cross shot run and gun shoot n scoot lanes, it looks like those shots will require mad skills... with a z.

2. What's stopping the snake? There are lots of ways and times to get into it. Is that a gap? Cause the kill angle through it looks rough. Or is there a bounce shot there? Or is the point to make the snake player go wide around that knucke?

3. Speaking of snakesssssssss- is S1 even effective? Or S2? S3 looks cozy though!

4. Is Doritos making the field layouts now? Cause the D side is a mixed bag. All these bunkers look easy to get into. Even some kewl over the top shots. And then there's D side 2.0.

5. I spy some nifty X angles, and all your ducks are in a row. Speaking of, what a nice blind for some trick trick runs.

Phoenix, In Review

We're back from Phoenix, and I've caught up on the week. The weather in Phoenix was a sunny 75, and while most people spent a little time with their shirts off, no one really got sunburnt. The event was smooth and on time.   We stayed in the Super 8 in three different rooms, which were a bit run down, but ok otherwise (besides the fleas in Danny/Dusty/Geoff/Tyler's room, but they got a new one immediately.) Lousy coffee, though. The field was a short 20 minute drive (when there's no traffic) and most of our games were early in the morning, which meant rising at a crisp 6am to grab a bite and jet while the morning was cool, which was nice.

Glendale Youth Sports Complex at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ was where the event was held. It's basically a large field with a bathroom/concessions complex that shares the parking complex with Phoenix Stadium. Parking was plentiful (and free), and close the field making loading and unloading people and gearbags a breeze. In attendance the event was pretty small, reflecting in smaller vendor attendance, and a less crowded event. The grandstands for the Pro field were free, and therefore almost always full. The concessions were a bit spendy, but most didn't mind as its nice to have food available at the field. The field grass was cropped short, and very nice. The ground crews did a great job of keeping the event clean, as well.

Definitely a players favorite as far as events go!
